What do the needles look like?
We use only, individaully packaged, sterile, single-use, disposable needles. They are used once and then disposed. The needles are never re-used. The standard needles are about the thickness of a cat's whispers and the finer needles are about the width of a strand of human hair.

Are there any side effects?
During the first couple of treatments it is common to feel a sensation of deep relaxation or even mild disorientation immediately following the treatment. These feelings pass within a short time, and never require anything more than some much needed rest to overcome.
Occasionally, the original or initial symptoms being treated may appear worse for the first few days, or other general changes in appetite, sleep, bowel or urination patterns, or emotional states may be triggered. These should not cause you concern, as they are simply indications that healing is occurring

Does acupuncture hurt?
The sensations that patients may experience during an acupuncture treatment range from nothing at all to a brief ache or heaviness in the area being needled. Some points may be more sensitive than others. Otherwise, most patients describe the sensations as fleeting and deeply relaxing.
